I want to preview my scripting and since I have to pull files from a "server", is there a way to do this with out having a real life server? Can I set up a virtual server?

Javascript don't need a server, it's ran into your browser. Type it in notepad, open it in your browser, and it runs.

The same for XML, it's just a text file representing datas...
No need for a server to access a text file.

I made a page with javascript/ajax that uses an xml file, and when I ran the javascript I was told that it couldnt find the other file on the server.
