I need a routine to detect the location of the mouse on a mouseclick and then check that location against a table of locations that represent areas on a graphic much like areas on the old imagemap - and then jump to the appropriate URL on a match.

This is because I have a site with a fixed background and text scrolling over the front of it, which is an effect I like, and I wanted to put an imagemap on the background but I find that can't be done. It is just not on.

So this looks like the way to go. But my javascript isn't up to it. I don't have any. Could anyone please help?

regards,
