im designing a site with some anchors house inside a fixed width DIV with the overflow hidden. everything works great but the one thing i would like the page to do is scroll to the anchored DIVs smoothly... ive found a TON of smooth scrolling javascript code, but none seem to work because the scrolling is meant to be horizontal, not vertical... can anyone help? im very very new to javascript so i dont know how to tailor the code to my needs.

I'm not quite sure if you want a vertical or horizontal scroll.

exactly! but maybe a bit slower and it need to scroll horizontally. i tried to apply that script previously to posting here....

SoftScroll does the same thing as that script and does support horizontal scrolling, but I'm not certain that it will work for scrolling divs.

nope... didnt work for me grrrrr! theres gotta be a way to do this! i wish i knew javascript already!

ok, i managed to find something the does exactly what im looking for but of course theres a snag! ugh! check it out! works great in FF, but IE for some reason it makes relative div placement behave similar to absolute

You may find that's just I.E.'s CSS response and nothing to do with the script.

Try SoftDivScroll

MooTools also has a smooth scroller script, but I'm not sure if it can be used horizontally.
