Hi guys, me again

I made a lovely photo galley using Smooth Gallery 2.0, I worked hard for several days playing with the css and js and all looked well on every browser except IE

The page opens with the usual pop up warning I'm running a script of some type and the gallery is spread all over the place. Photos in full size and their descriptions in a huge mess.

When the warning bar is clicked and the page refreshed all is well. It is definitely the Jscript as I have run several tests.

How can I get around this in a professional looking manner?

Cheers,

DB

I suppose you'll have to debug the script. Or have us help you do it.

As much as your offer is a temptation. My problem is with Internet Explorer - I'm sure. When I click 'allow site to show contents' and refresh, the page is how it should be.

I'm looking for advice on how to have the page displayed in a decent manner even though a 'surfer' hasn't got their javascript 'turned on'.

make so that it doesn't need javascript.

The same way you would handle it when developing for 100% accessibility, have a page with a static gallery that uses javascript to redirect to the scripted one.
That way if the script is not allowed to run or javascript is disabled, the user agent is fed the static version.

@pathfinder: Are you running this script locally, on your computer at home? I think I just realized what is going on. I usually post stuff to a server right away, so I forgot about this. As soon as you post it to the internet, IE will stop intercepting your scripts with this message, it just doesn't like scripts running on a local computer for some reason.

Abel that's a very good point!

Same here, even stuff I'm testing is on a development server sat in my office.
