Is it possible to hide ads on your own website by using JavaScript? The small image (or window) should appear where the ads are placed and cover them up. By using the color of the background of the page it would look like there are no ads at all.

But does anybody know how to do it? I don't know much about JavaScript, but I've seen some websites using banners to cover up some parts of the page so you can't read it until you click the X button. So it should be possible...

Anyway, I'm new to all this JavaScript business and I don't know how to customize these things. So if anyone has done such things before or knows how to do it - any help will be appreciated! Really

This window widget should have the following characteristics:
- it should stay still where I put it - it shouldn’t move when you scroll down the page (here is a good example)
- website visitors shouldn't be able to move it
- it shouldn't have visible boarders and X button, just background color
