I’m looking for people to be part of a JavaScript development project that is freely available under the GNU license and allows any web master to quickly add form validation to their forms. The project is a JavaScript Form Field Validation framework that I’ve worked on and have been using for several years. I’ve recently published it online for people to use for free and am looking for JavaScript experts to join the team and improve the code further.

The website the project is hosted on has received 3 million views thus far.

For more details please email me on taco.fleur@clickfind.com.au or visit http://www.clickfind.com.au/javascri...validation.cfm to see a code sample of the AJAX Form Validation

How can you help?

We are looking for members to add to the team who can help with:
-coming up with a cool name for the framework
-improve code
-identifying and fixing bugs
-reduce size of code
-add missing functionality
-document
-answer questions
-put the code under source control on Google code

Contact me to discuss this further

I'm sure a JavaSript framework exists already, but just because we already have an OS (Windows) should we stop creating others like Linux etc.?

bite your tongue, you'll have to pry my linux box from my cold dead fingers. I've suffered through writing code on windows, I am not going back.

Sorry, I just happen to think form validation belongs on the server. It's the only way to get really reliable validation.

But, if you really want a javascript library, I'd suggest (as you say) not writing it when something exists.

You're 100% correct, you need to validate on the server for security, which is exactly why I made this note on http://www.clickfind.com.au/javascri...validation.cfm

It should be noted that JavaScript is not to be relied on solely for input validation as the user can turn JavaScript of and bypass the checks, JavaScript is to enhance user experience and reduce server load only.

Cheers
