domain propagation



Has anyone noticed that new domain names only take a few hours to be active. ? last year it took 48 hours .

Also it all depends how close your supplier is to your isp. If you do a global traceroute to your domain you will notice from some counties it will take up to 72 hours because they are slow to refresh.

It depends on the registrar and if they maintain root servers.

For instance, new GoDaddy (a.k.a. WildWestDomains for resellers) registrations are almost always instantly available. This is because they maintain root servers that are used by nearly all ISPs for name resolution
