First the fault doesn't occur in Firefox.
From looking at the page code I would suggest you need to move the JS to just after the </head> tag. Also, put all those styles into a CSS - makes the whole thing a lot neater.
I can't immediately see anything else wrong with the lage code, so try that, and if that doesn't work give me a shout.

. I have found that this only happens with the java script inside the <head> tags. Whats the problem here.
