Jagged font when transitioning

Can anyone explain to me why the font goes Jagged on my JavaScript transition script:

http://www.webarticles.co.uk/js/ticker.htm

You will need to test it in IE, because I use the IE-Only transition. I have made the font large so you can see the jaggedness.

I have even tried setting the opacity dynamically using a fadeIn function but it still gives the same effect.

Just thought it was wierd.

If you don't see any jaggedness around the edges of the font - its just my version of IE being mental.

Let me know what im doing wrong if anything!

Cheers
