I need a gallery script.

Loads the image you click on straight away, and then has left and right arrow buttons to move to the next pic // back to the last

for some reason I can't find one right now. i've got ones where it loads an image straight away, then has forward and back, but to load the image that you click on to begin seems to be more difficult. any ideas?

Well make thumbnails of the pics.
Then i recommand you use Flash Actionscript to make it...It's reall easy..Put one Picture on each frame and put arrows. Then you write the actionscript for the arrows and that's it. really easy.....I don't know how to do that in javascript but i don't think it's difficult.
