I'm working on a huge game in javascript. Most people think it's nuts to try to do this, but I thought I'd try anyway. I'm almost done with it, except for a few basic RPG things. It should be in a working beta version by the end of March (I know, that's only a few days away). I have it set up at THIS SITE, even though it's not quite done yet. I think there's a lot of people out there that want to do something similar, or get an idea for what it takes to make a video game, therefore I shall make this game open source. I'll have documented code set up for those that want it.

What code I do have up at the moment is documented, so if you want to take a look, or help in any way (I could really use a little help with some repetitive stuff), then by all means, take a look at the source.

dude your nutz. The DOM isnt versatile enough to make a game worth playing.

Check out the open source game projects on sourceforge.net and you'll find other projects making almost commercial quality games if you wanna do that.

Or you could list your project there and see if other want to help you.

Actually, you'd be suprised at how much you can tweak DOM. It takes a lot of work, but my game isn't bad. It runs a lot like a NES game.

I think that might be tripod's fault. If you're using IE, that might be part of it too. It's also a slightly older version, because I'd rather not update the site every day just for a few sections of code. I could set up a newer version of it in a zip file if you want. It's still a little buggy, but it works pretty well.

hmm....That's strange. I could have sworn I checked that. It looks like just two of them won't load. Upon closer examining...heh...looks like I forgot to upload them. Sorry about that! No matter how many times I check this thing, there's always something I forgot.

Isn't there anyone that wants to be a part of this? I know it's a big job, but it's mostly done, and most of it is documented. There's a couple problems that come to mind if you want a place to start.
1. It needs a little work on loading the enemy image.
2. There's no special abilities or animations yet.

Sorry I haven't been checking up on this, but IE was giving me way too much trouble. Every problem I fixed caused 2 or 3 more in previously perfect code. I think I might just start from scratch, and use old code as a reference. If anyone wants a copy, it's about 10 pages printed, but I wholly endorse open source (catchy!).

I am working on a JavaScript RPG game too, but the game has no graphical interface. The only visible components are a textbox and a div(for messages). Something like GMUD, a text-RPG.
