I'm trying to come up with a good way to expand on navigational links on a page so that the user doesn't go 5-6 pages deep before actually finding (or not finding) what they need. My initial thought is an AJAX expandable list, where if you click a link it gives you other links in that category without leaving the page. What kind of options do I have if I have to stay within 508 compliance?

Are you talking about like how a FAQ's page has certain questions and once you click on the question link it'll take you straight to the info w/o scrolling so much just to find it?

If itis than I think you could do this easily in dreamweaver, no special codes needed.

subnet, as long as you don't make that the only way to navigate, I would think that should be fine. If it has a menu you can get through to what they want in addition to a faster, contextual, AJAX menu, that would just add a feature to the site for some users, not cripple it for others.

Well, after reviewing several sites, I think I'm going to go with CSS popups. Maintaining two sets of links on every page is not something I want to introduce to the site right now.
