Does IE always block simple script within the html page?
I have this simple text fade, real nice, but it isn't of much use if 70% of the people on Windows machines won't see it.

Are there any workarounds for this? I don't want to import Java applets for such simple animation, but maybe i have no other choice?

thanks

P.S. Sorry if this question is just too newbie.

Is this Java or JavaScript? Can we see an example?

IE shouldn't be blocking JavaScript unless you tell it to. The majority of people will have it on. Everytime I look the stats show about 10% of people are surfing with JavaScript turned off.

A link or some code would definitely help to understand what's going on.

Do you only see this when you view the page with the script locally? Or is it on a server somwhere. I've found that IE will block any active x object when you load a page locally, but put that page on a server and IE doesn't complain.

That' s my answer thanks. It's indeed some simple ECMAscript inside my html page and i tested it locally, not from a server. I'll test it with WAMPserver. Thanks for the tip.

By the way, is there a way one can hide the Sun logo when loading an applet? I think those Sun preloaders are a waste of my design?

Kudos to you guys for taking the time to answer

cheers

Glad to help. The same thing kept me up very late and very frustrated the first time it happened to me. For whatever reason I decided to just upload the page and everything was working.
