Presence of iframe kills a javascript

Hi folks

I have a useful script which, if you double click any word on a page, pops up a dictionary box explaining the word:

http://ied.gospelcom.net/scripts/dictionary.js

Bizarrely, I notice that it ceases to work in Firefox if there is an iframe on the same page.

Any idea why this could be, and if there is any way round it?

many thanks

Tony

It was written in 2000 (pre-FF). It's also coded gawdawfully.

The only thing I can think of is if you have an iframe with a non-unique identifier (in other words your iframe has an id= attribute and it's the same as something else.)

Thanks Adam. It certainly goes back, I believe, to about 1998 - the guy designed it to link up with his dictionary system which is now defunct, and he allowed me to use it to link to another dictionary. I have never seen any other script available like this. Wonder if anyone else has seen such a thing?

I don't think it is the iframe id issue - I removed everything else from the page to test it. It is the actual word iframe which kills it. Strange. Ah well.

thanks

tony
