Here is an interesting data point. It seems Internet Explorer 7 is about twice as fast as the previous version when it comes to executing javascript code, and has less memory leaks. And it seems FireFox 1.5 is about twice the speed of IE 7 for javascript, making it four times IE 6's speed.

What I don't understand is why does anybody still use Internet Explorer?
