Hi,

I am new here and am wondering if anyone has used/heard of the following Commercial Ajax frameworks. I am hoping to gather opinions which will be part of me decision factors on which one to purchase...

Smart Client
BackBase
Bindows
Ticbo Ajax Framwork
VisualWeb GUI

Thanks in advanced.

Best Regards,
Johney C.

I haven't heard of any of them, but you're going to laugh at the one bit of advice I do have: don't use Bindows.

People feel smart when they criticize Microsoft. If you can complain about a bug in a Microsoft product ( especially their OS ) it means you noticed something Bill Gates didn't, and you're smarter than the world's smartest man. Of course he didn't make it easy on himself, and there's plenty of legit reason to complain about Windows. But add to that a hundred times more people who complain about Windows because it's in style.

So if you use a component named after the most hated software in history, well, you're going to ride Microsoft's coat tails in the wrong direction. Sorry I can't give you advice on the merits of those frameworks, but I do think Bindows is in serious need of a name change. And that if your users know your site is based on this, I think enough of them will get a bad feeling in the pit of their stomachs that they might not trust your site to keep their membership info secure.
