Basically, I am loading pages into a iframe which has an animated (*.gif) image as a background on initially loading main page.
When I click onto a link to open a internal page into the iframe I need to remove the background image.
Check www.rockandrollclub.net and click on the "Social Events" guitar whilst within Firefox to see my problem with Google Calendar.
How would I achieve this ?

Seems like you have done that already, or I haven't understood what the problem is...

Thanks for replying tripy but I have yet to get what I'm after.

I embedded the Google Calendar inside a basic web page and gave it a white background to get around the current problem but this will not work when I attempt to load a page from someone else's site, such as a newsletter produced by a newbie from a doc. ( These helpful Club members do not know anything of web pages but still put in an effort so I wish to use their work as a thanks for participating ). So I'm still looking for an answer for the above inquiry. And yes, the site needs an artist onboard but I'm out to get it functional first.
