I have implemented this script http://www.nyokiglitter.com/tutorials/2columns.html

I have it styled and working just the way I want it, the only problem I am having is, I need the links to stay highlighted once the user has clicked on the link eg. Click on "second" the word "second" changes colour to yellow.

Does anyone know how I can implement this.

not sure what your script looks like, but you could do something like this in the click function:

document.getElementById("nameofyourelementid").style.backgroundCo lor="#FF4000";
