I won the Cpayscom online casinos contest by get a #1 listing on yahoo and # 3 on google for "cpayscom online casinos". I am removing the cpayscom part from my links and I am now at 48 for online casinos the affilate manager told me if I can get page 1 listing for online casinos I could make as much as $10,000 a month. Could I get in trouble for promoting online casinos?
I live in the US. If I put enought effort in to it I can get to page 1.

Promoting online gambling is a felony in Washington state now. You might want to check wherever you live.

Why is it illegal to promote it online? I would assume that it would be perfectly fine... Just make a page which links to all the sites using affiliate codes. I don't see why it would be illegal personally...

The laws on this are vague and not well defined.

Is there a risk? Yes.
Do people still do it? Yes.
Should you do it? Up to you.

there is starting to be a bigger crack down on casinos/online gambling .... so i would proceed with caution if i were u.

To add to this, I dont think there is a ton to worry about. This is still far from passing, and honestly I dont see it passing. Most likely it is a step towards regulation of some point.

Actually congress is close to passing a law now that states that the only type of gambling that can be promoted is Horse Racing and State Lotteries. Now if we all want to chip in and get an offshore gaming license then we can make millions..lol Think last price I got when I thought about it before was like 650k a year.

Just a thought. But then we own the casino, not making chump change.

But really read the news , It looks like they are really getting ready to hammer down on it,, online gambling is already illegal in like 28 states, it is just to hard for them to enforce it at the moment, but thats going to change soon.

I think it is BS to allow Horse Racing but not anything else, some Horse Owners must have some deep pockets in Washington.

The thing is, It has only made it through one phase of government. It will be much harder to get past the other side, and most likely will not.

One of the companies being targeted in this crackdown is bodog.com. While all this is going on, ESPN is showing BODOG ads constantly throughout the day. I simply don't see how this will ever pass to the point that any kind of enforcement can happen.

I simply see this as nothing more than a step toward government getting their hands on this market so they can begin taxing it. personally, I don't have a problem with it because it is income, just like any other job.

Yeah I believe though politicians on both sides of the fence passed it an overwhelming majority, like a 340 to 37 or something ( dont quote me on the numbers). I honestly think they will pass it this time. They have tried in the past but never really got off the first floor.

We shall see, but I will say that they are cracking down on it

In Sweden is it not, you can not advertise a casino/gamling site to the swedish market from Sweden.

But the casino companies use, servers in other countries and use sattelite channels and such to advertise, in that way the Swedish Government cant stop them.

What a Bellingham man did on his site was write about online gambling. He reviewed Internet casinos. He had links to them, and ran ads by them. He fancied himself a guide to an uncharted frontier, even compiling a list of "rogue casinos" that had bilked gamblers.
