For those of you that have a business, do you have insurance? If so what type of insurance do you have? what company is it with? what type of business do you have?

The reason why I am asking is because I am considering starting my own websites and my CPA said that I did not really need insurance (at least not at this point). She also said to go with sole proprietorship until I am making some decent money then go to llc. what do you guys think?

Also, would i need a state/city/county/local business license if i have websites?

Good day,

There is no denying the fact that running your own business has its responsibilities as well as its rewards and it makes sense to protect your interests from expensive claims that could be a serious financial burden. That¡¦s why it is advisable that you should ensure that you are sufficiently covered for accidents involving members of the public or their property, yourself, your employees and your property.
Here's a good site insurancepaylite.com

hope this help!

I have worked for a business that was interrupted by hurricane katrina. I know others who have had their businesses interrupted, as well.

I can say that you need to be sure that you're covered for what you think you're covered for. If you're running an online business, make sure your policy says "hack" -- make sure that they can't say that you're at fault for letting yourself get hacked.

unrelated, but sorta. my fridge went out from a power surge in katrina (i didnt lose my home). anyway, fridge broke, it cost $2000 to replace it (it was less than 1 year old, too), but "appliances damaged by power surge are only covered up to $1000"

make sure you're covered for what you think you're covered for.

this is not legal advice.
do not rely on any statements i have made.

One of the security in having a business is its insurance and other privileges. There are some businesses that somehow don`t have any insurances. This is okay at a start but when you are having a long term plan for your business then be sure to have an insurance.

I had never undergone webmasters having their own business at the internet having insurances involve; but maybe you can inquire for any insurance companies and I know, surely they will be offering you a great deal. Co`z someday you`ll gonna need that insurance. We should be prepared for the future..

Thanks and this is all I can share.
