Hey,

I got an email from Paypal earlier saying my account has been closed for violating their AUP.

Here is their AUP: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...de&ed=gambling

I only use paypal to receive payments for advertising on DeuceAce, not for receiving any gambling money.

They restricted my account before for the exact same thing and when I told them to check it out they saw it was for advertising, apologised and took the restriction off my account.

This time they said since my breach of their AUP was so serious, they will not enable my account, nothing has changed at all since last time they restricted it.

I really don't see what AUP terms I have gone against and why I didn't even get warning.

They have closed my account and I have funds in it, in their terms it says they can keep the funds for 6 months before allowing me to withdraw.

Am I missing something?

Angry isn't the word for it.

I just talked to someone from Paypal and they wont even take the time to review the account and see that I am not accepting bets.

I wouldn't mind so much, but I have a lot of money in my account.

Last email I got

Quote:
When PayPal closes an account due to an Acceptable Use Policy violation, it
is the company policy to hold the funds for a period of 180 days. Once
the 180-day timeframe has elapsed, PayPal will release any remaining
balance either via bank transfer or issuance of a check.
Is there anywhere I can go to appeal against this higher than their AUP team?

This just isn't on to close an account and not even review it or tell me what I am breaking in their AUP, I asked about 5 times and still haven't been told.

There must be something I can do here even to get my money back, it is a lot and I don't see how they can legally hold my money for 6 months, not tell me what I did wrong, review my account to see that I am not doing anything against the AUP or even give me a warning before totally closing my account (A warning for breaking a AUP that they wont tell me about...)

I know how you feel, my account was closed years ago and and I had roughly $9000 in the account...I am just glad i made it habit to dump amy account weekly or sooner depending on the amount.

I did get it back after 180 days and my account was reinstated but by then the damage was already done and it caused me to lose my business as I had no other way of accepting payments back then. There is still a lawsuit going on over this but who knows how long it will take.

Tyler Cruz had the same problem, anything gambling related and they lock your account.

If you remove the paypal links from the advertise page then you should be fine.
