If i want to block one of my contacts in msn live messenger, is he/she able to understand that i have done so?Can he/she find out that i have blocked him/her if i don't tell him/her that i have done so?
And what will he/she "see" when i sign in in msn?Is he/she going to see my status??

No. The contact just sees that you're offline all the time.

What possible emergency could arise such that you'd have to block someone like this?
