I am doing an assignment for school (ASP.net Framework 2.0)and am almost done but recieved this error:

Error 1
C:\Users\Fenwolf\Documents\VisualStudio2005\WebSit es\JamesPorthXmasProject\WebSite3\Default.aspx: ASP.NET runtime error: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. (C:\Users\Fenwolf\Documents\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites\JamesPorthXmasProject\website3\web.c onfig line 26)

Can anyone give me some advice on how to possibly correct this and what I may have done wrong.

Thanks

probably configure the folder as an "application" in the IIS MMC.

But without knowing exactly what you were doing it's a little difficult to be specific.

It is the third step in a four part project. Here is the info about this step.

In this lab, you use the specialized Web controls that have been defined in the lesson to create a Web page for selecting a room in your house that needs to be serviced and a service date.

I can post the code if needed. I am working out of Microsoft .NET FRAMEWORK 2.0 Web-Based Client Development (self-paced Training Kit) if any one has the book. The lab is chapter 3 lesson 1.

I haven't got around to doing any .NET stuff as yet (give it another couple of years yet )

but you probably need to open the IIS MMC navigate to the problem folder and set it as an "application"

RC -> Properties -> Directory Tab -> Create -> then apply and Ok out
