I have recently developed one website. After uploading this website to the server, I have received a few security exception on errors on some of my pages. I contacted my hosting provider on this and they have told that "it seems that your website is requiring asp.net full trust environment. And we are sorry to say that we do not provide full trust due to security reasons".

Now the question is. Why they do not provide full trust? Can it hard their servers?

I've looked online briefly and have seen it stated several times (a few straight from MS) that full trust has security wholes. What are those wholes? No freakin' clue as no one seems to say what they are.

I've come to realize however that if you tend to need full trust, there is normally a workaround for it, and normally involves you tweaking the web.config file.

What exactly are you trying to do that requires full trust?

I am not sure as to why my asp.net website is requiring full trust. May be I am using one COM component that creates virtual machines and using the virtual server service installed on the server where my site is hosted.

You can try signing up with Webhost4life or Alentus. Both of them provide Full / Modified Medium Trust required to run most apps.

I have myself had issues while installing dasblog (required full trust) for ASP.NET. But these hosting companies come to the rescue, thankfully

Thanks royalCanuck. However, I think updated by website so that it can run under medium trust level. Full trust level is really not good for web hosts. Refer the reasons

twhdir is correct. In the majority of shared environments, the host will not allow full trust. We came across this very issue when working with a third-party plug-in and ended up going with a virtual private server (vps) in order to have full control over the server.

I have the dedicated server where I host my several websites. One of our websites needs to have the full trust. We have managed to allow that asp.net application to run under full trust security environment.

That application updates a few registry entries and IIS metabase file. Though it is running under full trust, we are receiving the security exceptions. So, now the question is, Do I still need to impersonate the Administrator username (or similar with administrative privileges) for this asp.net application?

Please advise. Any help is appreciated.
