hi guys,

i am having trouble with Visual Studio 2005, which in my opinion is very cluncky slow, buggy and overprised. good job i got the company to pay for it

any way enough of my ranting.

when i publish my website to my local machine the site works on 127.0.0.1.

but when i copy the files over to the web server none of the aspx files are viewable.
i have put a simply hi.htm in the same folder which is accesible. so its not a security issue.

im pretty sure that this is something to do with the publishing process of Visual Studio.

does any won have an idea of how to copy a site from a local machine over to a web server???

Are you sure your host supports .net (2.0)?

That's a dumb question I know, but I had to ask

well infact im using an internal server on our LAN.
and yes it supports ASP.NET.
its IIS 6 on winserver 2003.

im getting the IT guys to map a drive to it so i can publish the files directly on to the server. but they take ages to do anything

i can publish to my local machine which works.
but when i copy the files over to the server they dont work.

have u ever published your site to a local machine then copied the files somewhere else?????

Do you have the website setup to support the proper .NET Framework?

I have never had any problems copying things over from my development server to my production server. so I am constantly publishing my site to a local machine(development server) then copying the files to whichever server they need to go to. whether it be mine or one halfway across the world.

What's the exact error you get when you try loading an aspx page?
