If you want online tutorials, http://aspnet.4guysfromrolla.com/2.0/ is pretty good.

For books, I've read a couple of Wrox books (beginner level) and they were good. Also ASP.NET Unleashed by Stephen Walther is good but that reads more like a comprehensive reference than a take-you-by-the-hand tutorial.

Sitepoint have an active (and helpful) forum.

Another good resource is W3Schools. You can find its asp.net tutorials at http://www.w3schools.com/aspnet/default.asp.

One of the best books that got me up to speed is "ASP.NET 2.0 in 24 hours" by Scott Mitchell for SAMS. I literally burned right through this book in days but it really gave me a great background and understanding. From there I went onto APress' "Beginning ASP.NET with C# 2005".

I had to learn ASP.NET for my job but if there's one thing I like about it is the ADO.NET.

Sitepoint put out a very good book last year.
Build Your Own ASP.NET 2.0 Web Site Using C# & VB, 2nd Edition
that i think was an excellent read.

Hi,

You can start from Microsft's Learn ASP.NET site http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336567.aspx
