CSS style sheets and do you really have to use themes?

Hey all,

I'm doing a personal website for myself & my former business partner in ASP.NET.

I'm so used to programming CSS and Javascript that I'm wondering... heck, could I still do that and not do the "theme" thing.

I want to use master pages (a dream come true), but I don't understand skins, et al.

Could I still use the XHTML modeling of css and just position the content elements? How should I set up the folders? Is it the same as pointing to a CSS folder?

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I get my brain racked for 8 hours with archaic JavaScript code at my job.

Thanks
Donna

Themes just render to xhtml. If you want to use CSS, call your CSS file in the head tag, and then assign classes or IDs to your elements.

Glad you like master pages; they're really a nice improvement. I think ASPx themes or skins are sets of user controls and images, possibly style sheets as well. I've been thrown into this with larger sites, and it's manageable, but if you don't need to swap things out, you can continue to use CSS and the JavaScript DOM the way you're used to.
