I'm totally new to asp.net and I recognize that this is probably a little bit more than I should take on, but id like to know if anyone knows how to rewrite a url in vb.net or even c# or even the logic of how I would go about it would help.

I've got a database that I've set up to serve my content on my page. View a page id=whatever and content is displayed. Okay, so I have a master page doing all the work and a url in my database and a page name. I'd like to write the page name based on the url in the db.

I really hope this makes sense.

Cant say Ive done this myself - although I really should have. Though a quick search does yield some good results...

There are many ways you can do URL Re-writing in .net.

YOu can do it using your web.config file:

Or it can be done using the global.asax file, in the Application_BeginRequest

these should get you started.
