Hello everybody. My name is Brian and I don't consider myself a webmaster by any stretch of the means. I do hope to learn from a few of the masters here though.
A little bit about me... 26/m/Iraq. I dabble in web design, amateur video production and enjoy anything Adobe. I am currently employed by the US Army as a Scout Helicopter Pilot.
<gratitude> Thanks for your time </gratitude>

It's a great job, lots of excitement. I am on month 5 of 15 months. I wouldn't make it without our personal internet. I thought paying $60/month back home for cable was a lot.... we pay a monthly subscription of $1870 for about 20 of us.
TributeK, what is your MOS? Hopefully you won't have to come over to the sandbox any time soon.

WOW $1870/month? sheesh.. Well, I guess split between 20 people making the extra money over there couldn't be too terribly bad.
My MOS is 63B, wheeled vehicle mechanic. I've been working on vehicles for almost 10 yrs now, 2 for the army, and am burnt out completely. I'm re enlisting in less than a month and I'll be reclassing to 35T, M.I. Systems Integrater/Maintainer. It'll get me started towards the career I want in computers and I think I'll enjoy it a lot more. The school is 48 weeks though, but that's ok, I get to take my family with me and who can argue with class for work everyday for nearly a year?
As far as going over there, I feel kinda crappy because so many have been and I haven't, not that I want to go. Well, good luck over there. Just think, this time next year you'll be packing up and getting ready to come back.
I'm a SPC, sorry if I'm talking disrespectful, I'm assuming your at least a Warrant Officer right?

Dustin, do whatever it takes to be with your family and don't worry about what anybody else thinks. Family first, god and country second.
I know all about going to school for a year. Flight school was a year and some change. 35T is a much needed job. It's also a high paying career on the outside. Suck up as much knowledge as possible and enjoy the family time.
Hopefully by this time next year I will be to hammered to know my own name. I shouldn't miss another Christmas.
I am a CW2, but don't worry about formality, respect has no rank.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely put my family first, even when my commander thinks otherwise heheh. I plan to learn everything I can at 35T school, I really excited to get there.
Oh yeah, 5 months in, leaves 10 months, I was thinking 12. That's even better.
Well, don't have too much fun over there Chief, if that's even possible. BTW, where are you stationed at in the states? I'm at Ft. Irwin right now. My wife often tells me she feels like she is deployed heheh.

eeeekkk. Irwin...
I'm currently stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. Which is inside Colorado Springs. It is the post that most people go to retire. Feels like a vacation when I am home. Nothing like waking up looking at Pikes Peak from your bed.
And trust me, you can have fun here. No altitude requirements to worry about really, so that leaves me to be able to legally buzz joes on the ground at about 10 feet. If they jumped him enough they could touch my aircraft. I call it "Recruiting". It's like a roller coaster with guns and rockets that you control. I wouldn't change a thing.

Haha, that's awesome. I'd love to see the reactions of some of those guys when you do that. I would love to go to Carson. Unfortunately I don't get to pick my duty station for this re enlistment. I'll try to get in touch with the branch manager though.
Anyway, nice to meet you Chief. Stay safe over there. Oh, and maybe make a few of those heat vision videos we all love so much? Heheh, j/k.
