Hi.
I'm sure at least one member of these forums knows me from somewhere (I used to admin with Dave), but for everyone else, I'll do the usual little intro thing...
Who:
I'm 22, English and I'm a techie in almost every sense of the word.
What:
I've been using XHTML and CSS for years and I'm a web standards fan.
I avoid using tables for anything other than what they were designed for.
I've used Object Pascal, PHP, Ruby on Rails, SQL, XML, some older variants of BASIC and probably some other stuff I can't quite recall.
I wanted to get into desktop application or games programming, but I slowly drifted towards web development with PHP and after moving to Linux, I dropped desktop programming completely save for a few bash scripts here and there.
I moved to Ruby on Rails after giving it a second chance, and after learning a bit of how it works, I've pretty much stopped working in PHP.
Current:
Right now, I'm building a content management system for blogs and small site s with Rails 2.0.2 that aims to be XHTML compliant.
It uses TinyMCE 3rc2 right now for content editing, which is the most recent version of Moxicode's editor.
TinyMCE 3 seems to be fairly capable when it comes to building compliant code, and it's easier than having end users learn Markdown, even if it is easy enough to pick up).
I don't have any sites online now, but I should have once I've got my CMS to a properly usable stage in it's development.
