Howdy,
I have been thinking about getting in to serious website coding for a year now. I have alot of ideas but very little experteise in any of the web coding languages.
I started really trying to create a site from scrach this week. In a very short period of time I found myself way over my head. While I am working my way through my problems, it is take hours and hours to get the smallest things done. And I am uncertain weather all this painstaking coding will payoff with a site that is actully useable, or it will just become a heaping pile of blotted code that will turn off any user that happens by.

So I guess I am here to find knowledge and a bit of comfort as I wad through my learning curve. And hopfully sometime in the distant future, I will be able to return the favor to others.

Hello Rejinx. Glad you decided to join us.

Coding is not something that you pick up overnight. It takes research and yes, mistakes. Revising code and debugging are a necessary part of the process.

The forums here are wide open for questions

I'd suggest you look into a CMS system like Drupal. They're easy to setup with no coding knowledge and are very customizable to meet your needs. You can also practice your programming by just making small tweaks and improvements to suit your needs. It stops you from having to redo all of the work that somebody else has also done. The problem that alot of new programmers make when they start is rushing things. If you build a site from the ground up with any complexity, and it's something beyond basic HTML and CSS, then you're going to introduce security issues. Most of these large CMSs are written by people who are really good at what they do. Simply reading their code and making the tweaks you want will help you to learn good habits and help you get your ideas out to the world quickly.

Keep on trying to do as much as you can yourself. Don't get frustrated when it takes you forever to complete even the smallest thing. Everybody started there. Everybody was new at one point. If you keep working at it, you can only get better. I'd suggest checking out http://w3schools.com & http://htmlcodetutorial.com Both are excellent sites to start your learning.
