I'm Jonathan Kramer, owner of CableTV.com, Renters.Org, CellularPCS.com, SpeakersBureau.org, and some other domains.
(Huh? Someone using their real name on a board?! :1eye: I must be from a different planet!)
I've used CableTV.com as my firm's domain since registering it in December, 1993. Last year, I converted it to a general public site, and moved my corporate site (very low traffic) to another domain.
I'm starting to monitize CableTV.com and having some luck with Adsense. Adding a dedicated front page (albeit somewhat amateurish) and a VBulletin forum have helped to triple my monthly revenue, but I'm not yet attracting 'paying' visitors. Interestingly, I get fully 25% of my hits from Hong Kong's cable subscribers (that cable firm uses the domain cabletv.com.hk, but you can guess what their users drop off).
I'm here to find clues, advice, partners, whatever, to move my UserName header to the green bar zone!
By the way, I'm not a webmarketer. I'm an engineer/inspector working for about 600 governments in the U.S., and I've just passed the California Bar exam, so I'm going to be :devil: YES :devil: one of 'those' people soon. :yes:

Just a follow-up note. I ended up parking Renters.org. I've seen my daily income from the site go from x.xx when the site had content to the low xx.xx as a parked site. Amazing. My CTR is right around 28%.

Very nice intro. I too have decided to use my real name on forums. I got tired of having "johniman7" on every thing so made it straight up me name. Maybe if lee didn't get so many PMs he would have seen mine requesting a name change *hint*  . This is a great forum to help you learn and hopefully we can learn some from you too. Nice domains BTW some of them could be worth a very pretty penny.

Thanks, Joe. The Bar exam here is :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:, but I'm being kind. The pass rate hovers around 35-45 percent, so I'm glad I'll never have to do THAT again...although I am sitting for the English Solicitors exam this year! Three more days of tests. jlk |

Nope. Because I control my own DNS, I have a full forum at (wwwDOT)forumDOTcabletvDOTcom, and I forward (wwwDOT)cabletvDOTcom to Parked for revenue.
Prior to several weeks ago, I had my own landing page at (wwwDOT)cabletvDOTcom and used Adsense for revenue, but switching to Parked increased my income by 400% per month.
And because Parked allows a user message at the top of the page, people coming to the landing page can still jump to the forum, where I still use Adsense.
I'm not really happy with the puny forum revenue generated by Adsense and Kontera. Any thoughts?

you could use,
some seo work to get to the top of google for some keywords. with a domain like that and a few bucks to spend it shouldn't be too hard.
a custom skin for the site i would strongly recommend. like everyone said, the domain is outstanding, you want people to realize your into it at first glance.
