Hi, I am relatively new to the world of SEO and affiliate links and I've picked up seo quite naturally in a very short period of time (four months). I've realized that with a drawn-out gradual seo effort I can probably work for only two hours a day and live decently and be able to escape windows-support hell.
I hope to eventually go back to school to improve my programming skills and be able to build a real search engine for geeks that would put google to shame, which in my dreams would support perl-style regular expressions, searching within any html code, and tons of other insane things, and it would be open-source/gpl and give the algorithm away (i'm not too sure about the oss/fs part).
As a side project I would make a completely ajax-based page-relevant text ad system.
Then I would build a totally ajax or comet-based social networking site that isn't a technological nightmare like myspace.
I will probably go to jchen's school, utexas. I've heard they have a world class computer science program on the cheap.
