Howdy all

Im Steve from Lincoln (UK)

I joined here as I want to learn more about web design and coding, I currently have my own site but this is currently running from a free web template which I intend to fully change to my own design (with a few questions along the way!)

As far as web design goes.... I have basic experience of HTML tags and the bare basics of CSS as far as formatting goes, but im a total numpty when creating layouts and tableless designs. Ide love to learn enough to get me by and possibly expand that little further with web design in time.

Im pretty clued up with computers in general and I tend to specialise in computer security and malware removal/prevention and hopefully this is where my site will finally end up, teaching others about how to keep safe.

Welcome to WT Steve. Great name by the way. Creating all css layouts can be a little tricky at first, but I promise it gets easier with time. One thing that will hopefully help is often with css the trick is knowing you don't need to position things as much as you think.

Most people when first trying their hand at css layouts (myself included) think you need to use positioning on everything. That usually leads to more problems than solutions. What you generally do is just let things lay where they want and then float a few key elements.

It takes practice, but you'll get there.
