HELLO EVERYONE!
New to the forums here. I am an aspiring web designer with a good bit of experience under the belt. I am currently expanding my knowledge of everything web design and thought it would be helpful if I signed up for a related forum for help and ideas, so here I am.
I've been making websites on and off for years but recently decided to take it much more seriously and try to get into the industry. I am pretty much self teaching myself because I don't have money for school.
I currently work at a a small internet reseller here in the Bay Area, CA. Luckily they are allowing me to do the web work here and are willing to buy whatever books and such I need to help expand my expertise.
I am fluent in XHTML and CSS and their current W3C standards. I code according to XHTML 1.0 Strict. I also know most of XML but haven't had much use of it yet except some RSS feeds.
I am currently delving headlong into PHP/MySQL. I also know a little bit of Javascript but I can definitely improve a lot.
Programs I am fluent with are Dreamweaver and Photoshop mainly. I just recently started using Fireworks to prototype new sites and I am still learning. Would also like to get into Illustrator a little.
I also used to be fluent in Flash, but when it switched over from CS2 to CS3, I practically need to re-learn it all over again (espcially Actionscript 3.0).
