To whom it may concern,

I'm Raoul Lazo, CEO turned webmaster. I'm looking for talented web designers and developers who can share the same vision that I have about how IT careers will be in the next 10-20 years from today.

Right now, I'm building a futuristic web application that will revolutionize the business process outsourcing industry. I need committed volunteers like me who has the technical skills and knowledge, to help me build this futuristic web application as our lasting legacy to humankind.

The future website is a non-profit undertaking!

If anybody out there is interested, please send me a private message so that I can provide more details. Thanks.

You may not get talented enough people to join you if there's no profit. Everyone has bills to pay and the people that are talented do it for a living. Just because you take some money off the table doesn't mean you have to be greedy and become another evil microsoft or youtube sellout... There is a balance in between.

Money is simple a measure of wealth, a shorthand communication of value that facilitates easy, portable financial transactions. If you bring value to the world through innovation, money will naturally come along with it. That doesn't mean you have to lose your ethics or your ideals. Look at craigslist -- they have an extraordinarily low number of employees and very few revenue streams (compared to what they could be having given their popularity!) -- they're a perfect example of a how a for-profit company can still provide value to the world in the same way a non-profit would without losing their idealism.

Just a thought.

I see what you mean, when I stated non-profit I did not imply that there will be no revenue streams from the web application. There is a difference between getting voluntary donations from the site members who benefit from the web services provided rather than charging them membership fees and commissions. Like this forum for example, if the owner started charging membership fees I doubt if people like you or me would be here now having a healthy exchange of ideas.

There are many people working in non-profit organizations who derive income from their labor or services.

The web application that I'm envisioning may be futuristic in nature but will be inevitable someday. It is designed to help self-employed professionals working from their homes to collectively compete against outsourcing giant companies that makes all the money.

I already completed the design, all I need are for people would volunteer their skills and talents to help me finish the construction and implementation. For the voluntees who contributed, the compensation is their service to humanity and the economic benefits that comes with it...

There are already sites that facilitate freelancing, which is basically what you describe, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of opportunity to smash the competition if you do it better, sleeker, or just make it easier.

I'm too busy with my own projects to work on a collaboration at this point but I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor! Bettering humanity is what's it all about, that's my long-term goal too.
