Hi... just arrived onworld. I'm interested in learning about coding for site creation. I know basic HTML and have a few (now dismantled) sites around Geocities.
What prompted my direction toward PHP is the need to learn how to create some 'games' that I played daily on a recently closed site I frequented. That site was created with php and I assumed the 'games' (exercises, training) were specifically created with php.
I found my way to http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/php/ and sat down with the tutorial but found that even the simple intro code didn't result in what the tutorial said it would. While I assume that it may well have been my complete inexperience with the most simple things, such as, making a .txt file into a .php file, I also have recently gotten a new machine (emachines, running Vista and using IE8) and thought the problem might reside in one of those areas as well.
The 'ASK' area directed me here.
I was looking for an absolute beginner part of the forum, and figure this is probably the best place to begin.
