Hi Everyone,
I have been playing around with webdesign as a hobby for about 5 years, about six months ago I took over redesigning our company website and for the past two months have been the webmaster for my church.
I had to learned PHP & mySQL to do my company website with an interactive search. The general user side is up and running at www.Global-MedicalSearch.com, now I am working on the employee side so that our employees can add, delete and edit records in the database. It is taking me some time because I only get to work on it in between other job duties, being a mom & wife, family historian & my church website.
My church website is very basic, but I'm in the process of developing the youth group part of the site and hope to make it much more exciting for the kids This is the first time I have started from scratch, so I'm not too sure yet where it's going to go. My 14 year old son & 10 year old daughter are helping with the brainstorming so I am pretty confident it will appeal to other kids.
Hopefully by joining this forum I will be able to help some people and I am sure at some point I will need help too, there is a lot of stuff I have yet to learn!

I am insanely jealous that you figured out php and mysql. That is what I want to do, I just have such a hard time learning by reading on my own. I am hands on girl and I don't know anyone in real life who can show me. I even called some local colleges and they dont offer classes in that. sigh.... someday
I was almost ready to admit defeat (which would have been major-I have never found anything I couldn't learn if I tried hard enough) when it all of a sudden started to make some sense.
