Its a long story but the site has been online for around 2 years, the previous owners had around 100 users, then sold it to me but didnt tell me that he would take awy the customers, so i ended up with a useless website, then from word of mouth the site started to get busy, then i payed some one to do an email campain for me, it was working great and ended up with hundreds of users, but lightning struck when one night i was receiving a load of hits and the hosting company shut the site down :-( because there servers could not handle the hits, anyway, they shut the site down for 3 days untill everything calmed down it went back online, but with 50 users, i questioned the hosting company and they said that there was no way they could host the current site with the users i had? i was gobsmacked i couldnt beleive what i was hearing, so i demanded to have the website back to its original state with all users, but they wouldnt do it, so i demanded a backup and the website you are looking at, apart from 40 odd other users, is what i had given to me by the hosting company.
My conclusion is that when they shut the site down, they had lost or corrupted the data, the site was running fine up untill then, and its still not right even now, it appears to be running slower than normal.
I have spent hundreds of pounds on the site, getting it prepared, logos, a forum etc, and they screwed it up for me.
The website unfortunately is not for sale as its now more sentimental than anything. If anyone has any ideas for the site please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to have gone on but you can imagine how i feel.
The good news is of course is that im looking for a established website.

Thanks for listening

Jeff

Sounds like you need to look around for a better hosting package that can handle the traffic, and can treat your website with a little more care!

jeff you shoudl look to develop that site more as it seem a really good idear i was gonna build a website like that i think you really need to sort it out tho from scratch as i think alot of people do not take it as a bussines as they click links and the page is not finished if i was you instead of buying a new website i would spend the money to get the site you have up and running again it jsut little things like you have got the domain co.uk but on the site u got a russian version and german version but these are pointless as it on a co.uk domain if you just sorted out a nice easy layout jsut for uk then advertise i think if a few years the site could be quite good if you find a way of making money but not chargin as much as ebay once you start off im sure that you get moeny in to build other site for other countries.

I am so sorry for not getting back to you, as i have had a lot on my plate, good news though, we have decided to get bidstop back on its feet again, i had a chat with a very good friend and we have decided that it might be a good idea to give another shot.

Cheers

well welcome to WT jeff. you can post in the sites for sale forums as well as put your current site up for review once youve reviewed a couple and then with the feedback you can re-model your site so you can get the results you want.
