Hi forum. My name is Mark and I’m the new guy here.
I am learning web-design, more or less, as a hobby. I have gotten very good using Dreamweaver and am actually the webmaster for 5 or 6 sites now. I have learned that this is something that I really enjoy doing a lot. I’m learning more everyday. As I am a registered nurse and family man, my time is not completely devoted to webdesign.
But, I am interested in finding a place of reference to answer some questions.
Code doesn’t scare me, but I’m very unfamiliar with using it. I let the Dreamweaver do the coding for me. But hope to learn more about it later so I can code myself.
I worked a little bit with Photoshop and found it frustrating. BEAUTIFUL work can be done wit PS, but I found the template that I bought from templatemonster very rigid.
Incredible looking, but if inserted new pictures or data (that did not replace existing images or imageholders) it sort of “fractured” it and pieces/cells just sort of blew apart. Maybe it was just the one that I bought.
So, I plan on doing a lot of reading thru this forum. One thing I have learned during this is that with every site I build, I learn something new.
I guess one thing I want to learn is how to make a good looking website without using PS. Is that possible? And also, I want to learn about how to use java.
Thanks for reading and have a great day,
Any advice or links appreciated.
Mark
