I'm glad to find a forum that i can ask the "stupid" questions. I don't mind learning to do some of what's needed to have websites or blog...but the technical stuff is like speaking foreign language to me. At least for now.

I hope I can find help with, for some of you guys simple things,in here.

To start with how to properly upload FTP with filezilla and being able to see my blog on the web would be a start.

I want to build some sites, affiliate sites etc...

and like most people i would like for it to be as painless as possible

. If i could afford to have someone do it for me I would but I can't. so i need to learn my self...

Can i get some step by step help in here?

Hey Don welcome to Webmaster-Talk.

Okay I can help you. Who are you hosted with? What control panel are you using?

If you're using cPanel or Plesk, the host for your domain for FTP is "ftp.yourdomain.com".

If you have cPanel, your login info is your cPanel's login info (username/password). For Plesk if you are using that the username/password is going to be whatever you set it to be.

The root folder for domains using cPanel is public_html.
The root folder for domains in Plesk is httpdocs.

Upload the blog's file (WordPress script) into your root folder following the instructions of the readme. You're going to have to create a database first in your control panel and put it in the config file.

Just follow the instructions provided with your blog script, which is probably WordPress
