How about letting us know how much everybody has points

?
Or just make a new topic and let us know who are the top 5 in points up to now ?

I don't think they are calculated by the system. They will be checked and double checked by hand before any points are awarded.

I think it's more interesting if you were taking part in the contest to guess where you are, instead of being told.

So why dont we have points system for posts and admins can edit them by addin points for refers and articles ?
It would be better and we will all know who is doing the best !!

Because this is a short term contest. No sense in installing something for a few weeks.

Although, I do think it'd be cool to see roughly how many points people have and where you rank...

The problem is that it's not as easy as one, two, three to create something like that...something that will calculate these points and display them for everybody.

And calculating these points by hand for everybody participating as the contest goes on would be out of control - By only adding up points when people reach 1,000, the staff only has to look at 5 members....if they kept totals along the way, they would need to tally every single member participating - that would be a full time job...for 5 people :scared:

Yes but the admin will not count ...it is an automatic system ...
I use it at ipb ...for every post one point ... and they can add points for refers and articles ...It would help us see the top list and help also the admins and make it easier for them by not adding by hand and writing stats on documents or papers maybe ..

Well, I don't believe there is a points system known to worth with vB 3.6 Beta yet...might be, but not to my knowledge...and even if there were one, as Lpspider said, I doubt that the admins would want to install a modification as major as a points system just for a temporary contest.

But hey! I should stop speaking for the admins...they might want to do it

There will be no points system as part of the contest is putting the responsibility in the hands of the users.

Maybe have vBPlaza installed, and make it 1 point per post. Then, if we submit any articles, and/or blog posts, then the admin can just add the correct amount of points to our current points amount
