I was thinking, and there is a limit to earning points here. Well some what of a limit. I mean, after we get our 5 articles, and our blogs, then we have to just refer members and make lots of posts.

Would it be possible to also include one way links with a certain PR attached to them? For example, if we link to this site with a PR 5 or so, maybe we can get 50 points, or something like that. Maybe make PR4 40 points, and have a latter like that. You could set a time limit that the links would have to stay up just like you haev a timie limit on the blog postings. If you wanted you could put a cap on how many backlinks we could have, but I guess it's all up to you

I think it is too late to keep changing the rules now. The rules have already been changed enough times along the way in my opinion.

How many points do you have so far Matthew?

Enough. Honestly, that is none of your business. I do have at least 300 though, if you really want to know. I plan on having 1000 very soon though, and I assure you that it won't be 1000 posts.

Regarding rule changes, this is something I knew I would have to do as you can't determine every possibility in advance. There may have to be more changes to come, thus the reason I made it clear on the contest page to check back for any changes.

Matthew - it's a good idea, and I've considered mentioning it. Thing is, I agree with Domaining (wow). If the rules were like that from the beginning, I'd say go for it, but now it's a little late, and would likely give some users an large advantage.

Oh, I didnt mean that we had to change the rules. I did notice that Lee did say to come back for changes and tto watch the site. Just a little consideration. I am only trying to help the forums grow here and help get Lee backlinks :yes:

Yeah, I have thought about this and I definitely agree it would give many of our members easy points by using there own sites. Thanks for the recommendation however. I am open to ideas and like to see people sharing them.

Here is a suggestion:

How about you give us points for sending you PPC referrals?

Something like 10 points per click?

How does that sound?

Honestly a click doesnt get you anywhere. You need the person to sign up and register and be a part of the forum.

As for actual text links, those would be indexed in search engines as backlinks, which is what google pr is all about, backlinks... or other sites that link to you.

Yeah, you are right. If we got credit per click, it'd have to be like 1/100 a point per click, really.

For unrelated traffic maybe. Webmaster related clicks for the most part aren't exactly dirt cheap. Each click would have to be at least worth 1 point.

You can already get points through the clever use of ppc, if the person registers and posts according to the rules. Someone could easily walk away with one of the five winner spots by using that method.

We already know that but why risk it when this contest won't come down to referrals? If I am missing something please tell me. If I believed that referrals would even have a slight impact on the outcome I would have already bombarded the PPC engines with listings.

It was recently changed.. as in the past 3 hours.. it was changed to July 31st. And now, it's the top 5 people with points.

I thought I could win by the end of the weekend too. Life is tough. Deal with it. Swallow it and keep it down. Don't regurgitate it, because that will be worse than when you ate it.

Now suck it up and be a man. We have to man out this war full and strong till July 31st.
