Why is that? The majority of them are very good posts, IMO. Why don't you further clarify.

Anyway, I'd say that about 95% of your posts fall outside Lee's quality guidelines, but ultimately it's up to him to make that call.

Guys, please understand that making worthless posts won't be tolerated. I am a nice guy and feel that users coming here to simply post "nothing" is somewhat of an insult to me and this contest we have put together.
Please be considerate of me and the forum.

I read the quality guidelines and I don't see how anywhere near 95% of my posts don't meet them. IMO, the majority of my posts have been a lot more informative and in-depth than yours.
Please be specific, so I know exactly what you are referring to here.

For some reason I believe this thread is in reference to me. Yes, I used some of the same questions in some posts but so has everybody else and on top of that all of my topics were different and 100% relative.
When I see Lee and the mods in here posting the same exact thing like:
Welcome to the club!
What I am supposed to think? Personally, I don't think that I have done anything wrong. Everything I have posted is relevant? My posts for the most part are rather in-depth in comparison to many.

If that is the case, then in my opinion, you have nothing to worry about. One thing that sort of made people a little angry was that you posted them at such a fast rate - like every 30 seconds.

It would really not be worth my time to list all of them, but here's a perfect example. And, don't worry about my posts, worry about your own.

You have got to be kidding me, using that post as an example is ludacris. The question was "What is your favorite smilie?". My post was 100% relevant to that thread. Everybody just posted a smilie. Not only did I post the smilie but I also posted "Excellent question!" along with it. That in itself was more in-depth than most of the other posts in that thread. I type and think exceptionally fast and can make in-depth responses just as quickly and I have been doing that and this particular response is an example of that. Please tell me this response holds no weight. It is several sentences already.

I say let's move on. The idea is to contribute and I think we all know what that means. This thread, my posts aren't targetted at any one user here, but rather all of them. I want people to respect this place and be solid contributors while trying to win the contest of the century!

Indeed. Although, as a last point, I don't think three to five word posts are "in-depth".
Thing is, while I personally may post a lot, I enjoy what I'm posting while do my best to contribute. While I'm trying to win the contest, I'm still having fun and will continue to post long after the contest ends.
Anyway, regarding silly post milestones... I recently surpassed 300.

How am I doing Lee? I really am trying my hardest to make completely relative and fully in-depth posts. Really, I am and I have nothing but the utmost of respect for you and this forum and that is the honest truth. I don't think I should be accused of making bad posts when in reality they are all 100% relative to the topic of the thread. Here I am with another 50 word plus post. I have been posting on here for 9 hours straight. Doing so is not an easy task, especially while writing posts as relavent and in-depth as I have been.

I definitely agree with both you Lee and you Lpsider. I just want to contribute. Although winning the contest would be nice, it's not really necessary. I will gain much more out of being a part of this community then from winning the contest.
By the way, I have also passed the 300 mile marker. Lpspider and I are kind of riding stride for stride here You make a good running buddy!

Not necessarily. Word count isn't a measure of the quality of a post. If someone can get their point across well in 3-4 words, then more power to them.
Thread creations - Here are things I find valuable to a forum if done correctly. Creating threads is somethig people seem to back off from doing. I can understand the reasoning as well, as many forums, some large forums to be exact, have moderators that can be complete asses if somebody else has created a similar thread within the past couple weeks, or if they dont like the topic. I am hopefull we dont have to deal with jerks like that here.
Short thread titles are fine, but when you create a thread, adding some insight in the initial post is most helpful. If you want to create a thread about adsense, explain what you are interested in within your post. "explain here" isnt going to get much insight.
We have people from many different backgrounds of webmaster experience here. All insight is valuable to somebody, even if it is a visitor that has not registered. Don't be afraid to start a topic, or respond to a topic, but help everyone out including yourself and put some thougth into it. That is how we all learn, and nobody who visits this forum cannot benefit from learning, even from the newest member of the forum.

As I said, my comments were directed at all the members, not you alone.

Every one should post as if the post count has nothing to do with the contest!!!

You'll find out when you get to where you think you got 1,000 posts! Don't forget your refer members have to make those posts. Right now they got you 0 points. You might want to write some articles and do some webmaster blog stuff!!!

Well, I just reached 300 posts and I have already taken care of the articles and the blog post. Unforunately, I probably won't be able to get another 3 blog posts but I am not banking on that. You are right about referrals, this will come down to posts in the end and I have nothing but the utmost in confidience that my posts are plenty relevant and plenty in-depth.
Thank you and good luck to all of those participating in the contest!

I don't think it's going to come down to posts at all.
