Hey Lee ,

How about adding a chat room to this forum! That way members can get in their and network in real time instead of trolling the boards. Just setup a paypal donation button and all the members who donate can get into the chatroom and network some.

Just an idea, and I think a lot of the members would like it.

Make it a pay to play,,lol. :alucard:

Wow, cool site punkstar. I might have to check that out.

But still good idea Mill, a chat for EF would be great.

Not sure I'd be willing to pay anything more then $5.00...simply because I can talk to anyone I want on ChatWebDev, or on MSN...

I think a chatroom on EF would be strictly to bring the community together and closer. I doubt Lee wants to disorients members who aren't willing to pay, compared to those who are...

IMO chat rooms are a bad idea. You never get the full community behind it, you end up with 5-10 people in there. All not talking too much, then some people don't come back. Then you're left with 2-3 survivors, new people see that, they won't want to stay.

Then you have a failed feature. Seen it happen many times before.

No I think it pulls away from the forums. Chat is not a good idea.

Games are an even worse idea I feel.

yeah well i didnt say that it was a must have, but I do like chat rooms if you keep the crap out of them. But video games and forums dont mix..lol.

I was thinking people could donate 5$ and get a password to the forum, this way everyone that wants it pays for it. 5$ a year to just add another element of this forum, that some may like and benefit from.

Once again I know it isnt for everyone, thats why it should be a pay for password deal.

It would be cool but I don't like the Idea of It competiting with Chatwebdev. Theres really not much point In having a few Inactive webmaster chatrooms when we could all come to the one place.

And about the games, are you serious? hehe

I'm against chat rooms... they don't add anything to the community for the most part. As for games, there's not much point, espeically on a forum such as this.

I wouldnt be so quick to paint a broad area with a narrow brush. Saying a chatroom is bad for a forum is very off-based. Some forums work very well with them. In other areas, chat boxes work well within the forum.

Different forums just work better with things than others. You just have to try it to see if it is a good idea for you.

As for this site, I think it is way to early to even consider it.

hmm a chat would be really cool as some webmaster forums have them and they really rock! I hope it doesn't absorbs too much bandwith..
