My favorite part of this forum so far is the website reviews section. It's a great place to go to get feedback on your site's UI, colors, and ad placement. I think this can be a useful tool if applied correctly.

Unfortunately, I've been seeing a lot of comments like. "Yeah, the site looks good," or "Change your colors or something. Move the ads." These comments aren't really constructive in any way. They don't help the webmaster achieve their goals and aren't really a proper critique.

I propose the following guidelines be put into place in the website review subforum. Your post should include:

OS and Browser used
Resolution viewed at
Constructive comments with advice on how to improve.

Preferably seperate points can be bulleted out and explained well so that people can get a lot from every critic. This is just a suggestion, but something I think could benefit everyone.

Thanks for considering!

I agree with you Nick. There should be certain guidelines by which a member should review the website. I've been giving good feedback and advice on the websites I've reviewed, and so have some other members.

A couple members have been spamming just for the contest, but I'm sure that will go away soon.

If members say they don't like something, they should tell why and what the webmaster should do to improve it.

Not everybody likes writing a whole essay for every thread they reply in. Me, I just give my opinions and I'm outta there.

Hmm.. honestly, it shouldn't matter you asked for review in which you aren't paying for anything to be reviewed. We give you our opinions and you're going to complain about it?

Exactly. If someone wants a full review, they'll ask for it. Most of the threads in that forum are mostly "what do you guys think?" type of threads anyway.

The ones where members reply with "move the ads" are usually because the threadstarter asked about ad placement. What's wrong with that?

Yes, actually, now that I think of it, there shouldn't be any specific guidelines. Everyone has their own methods of reviewing a website. The guidelines should just be that you're expected to give a review of the website and provide quality feedback. No SPAMMING.

All right, I see your guys' points. I'd just like to say that I was not complaining. (In fact, I haven't asked for a review of any site yet) I just wanted to help the community. Maybe I was just frustrated by the number of:

"Yeah, its good... change the ads" posts that I saw earlier.

Thanks for everyone's opinions!
