Look at my signature.

I think it's a really bad idea!!!! Next thing you know people will be posting linked banners in the signature!! It also lets us upload signature images. I think all this should be set to not being allowed.

I like to see the sense of humour of our members, and it sometimes shows in the signatures or images they show

Images should NOT be allowed in signatures directly, but there is a separate system for signature images, which lets the admins set size restrictions. Something within reason would be ok.

Several forums I go to allow a 200x60 signature image, which doesn't look too cluttered and gives members that extra option if they want, without letting them go overboard.

I also think that any images in signatures should not be allowed to be animated.

i say let it go. images and links are fine. If it gets out of hand then bring it up. why complain about something that isn't even happening? makes no sense.

plus if there were no images allowed you wouldnt be able to see my DOJO sig lol

I think both images and text links in a sig should have a size limit.

I don't think small images are that bad. I personally don't like them, but many seem to and it really doesn't bother me that much. On all forums but this one, I generally have signatures disabled from my userprofile so I can more easily concentrate on the threads.
