It seems earners forum is languishing. In the months that I have been here it seems posting/user activity has slowed down markedly after peaking a couple months ago.

When you view the 'new posts' tab for example after three hours there may only be a few dozen new posts versus awhile ago when there was much more activity.

it is unfortunate to say, but I think this community is slowly fading away...

I would have to agree, it seems that most of the people were here for the contest. And most of the new members are just PIPS people, oh well, there are always other forums around the place

I don't think it is languishing at all, but rather coming back down to where it "should" be. We are still getting a solid number (xx) of registrations daily and hundreds of posts. I like the current pace and know it will only pick up when I begin to release some of the new enhancements.

I agree with Lee here. I think the forum is getting enough posts per day. Personally I don't have time to check up new posts every 15 minutes. There's few forums I read that I'm afraid to refresh every morning. There's so many posts that it takes too much time to even see what's interesting. This forum also seems to have very good useful post ratio. It means that for example there's 1 good information post for every 3 posts. I can't say specific numbers since I haven't really gathered any real numbers, but it just feels that way. There are many popular forums out there where people are talking, but they are just talking crap, and nobody really contributes anything useful.

I think Lee should think about invite only board. That's kind of harsh, I know, and you don't get much new members, but usually if the board is closed for public, people are more willing to share valuable information. Since we have some big earners here, this could be potentially a good idea to think about.

The newness factor always wears off after a month or so of a forum, then it slows down to a reasonable pace.

I forget where I found this forum but I like it and I am here to stay. I didn't join for PIPs or the contest either. I think we may have lost a lot of people since we banned affiliate links in sigs but I think it will be worth it in the end. I think we will have less people here posting just to spam affiliate links and PIPs.

Affiliate links in sigs aren't allowed? I didn't hear about that.

I agree with that. I think many people probably were lost due to sigs as well as other things. I joined because of PIPs directing me here but I am not leaving because of such a non issue. This is really a good place to be if you are serious about networking.

I find myself spending very little time here as I've yet to glean any advice or "inside" information that I didn't already know. I was hoping to see something different here, although I'm not sure I could describe what...

Almost everytime I check here, I see tons of advertise threads, or people just trying to fool others to click on their affiliate signatures in order to make an extra buck.

For me, the only interesting section of the forum is the FAQs + Answers from the Earners category.

I think the forum is slowing down to a reasonable pace. I wouldn't mind if it was a bit more active, but the way it is now, I'm OK with that...

I was really turned off by all of the affiliate marketing and the PIPS guys, but now that it's against the rules, I've found myself coming back more and more.

Many forums have more activity, but the kind of activity that can also discourage good posters from posting. Let's grow this place naturally. If you want some faster pace, come up with some interesting threads

I dont know if that is true. New forums need quick growth or else existing members lose interest. A larger forum can sustain itself on slow growth becasue there is already a lot of content being generated.

Quantity should be inspired by quality. On a real forum, that is

We need more of the quantity to keep people here

Quality wise, more needs to be done to help distinguish this forum fomr the dozens of other webmaster forums out there
