I was just wondering Lee, why you don't have seo friendly URLs for your forums? Personally I can't stand it.

Good question....I felt that it wasn't needed as I have many other large forums that get a ton of SE traffic using the vB URLs.

half of the site is private anyway.... it wouldn't really help get the real content indexed.

that said, i run vbseo on all my open public sites. and its done GREAT things for me.

the traffic that EF is getting now is stable. i dont know why Lee has left half the board private or if it is but the site is well known already.

i dont think this forum need vbseo at all. the viral and advertising traffic ef is getting is good enough.

I think that SEO friendly mods do not help EF greatly in this case also.. since we have quite an amount of private forums.

I think the only thing wrong with EF is that it doesnt tell you what you're missing out on by not getting into the UserGroups. Its just known that there is usergroups that allow you to have access to private forums and thats it.

What your missing is private discussions dependant on your earnings bracket. This is a fantastic way to discuss things not so publically.

Good enough to one is barely acceptable to another. If you don't think there is serious flaws in vBulletin out of the box then you can run it that way. I hope all my competitors think like that. I'm not happy with "good enough" and anyone that is will almost always fall behind in business. My .02
