Yea, KamilKJHF, I agree
The forums look like a great resource to me. I think I will be visiting here even after the contest is over. It sure pulled me to this site, but still it has some good content!

Hooked by the contest? Yes.
Staying just for the contest? Possible, but not probable.

Too late to join the contest?
I was following the thread with some interest and checking out Tim and Lee's responses.
Here's my take.
How you perform in this contest is also an indication of your future success as an internet marketer.
are you someone who looks at the possible competition (with about 57,000 members) and says to yourself "there're too many people here...I can't compete...!"
How do you think it's going to be like in the "real world" with affiliates and other marketers who are playing for keeps? (ie working hard online to generate income to support themselves and their family).
Obviously, it's going to be ridiculous to say you should attack this contest with the fervor of King Leonidas of Sparta at the Pass of Thermopyle (go re-watch "300" for some inspiration).
But with the prospect of $5,000 each for 5 winners, I think it'll give any new marketer a kickstart in their business... you could hire an SEO firm for your business, spend $5,000 on AdWords, hire a ghostwriter to create a product for you, run about 2,000 ebay auctions...I think the sky is the limit.
If you are driven, you will want to do well in this contest, even if there's just one prize worth $5,000 up for grabs...
I'll be sending in some entries along the way, between working on my other projects, and I'll be giving this my 100% (else why bother, right?).
Besides just the $$$ and the prizes, I think you'll gain good experience participating in the contest, make more friends from the forum, and pick up some techniques you can use in your live campaigns too...so it's worth it, don't you think?
Need help?
fighting procrastination?
See you at the finish line...
For Sparta!

Great post Andrew. It's good to see you on Webmaster-Talk.com. I've heard a lot about you.
There are a lot of members who just assumed they couldn't win. They should assume they WILL win because there are a lot of people with that same mindset who won't give it a shot.
It will take work and it won't be easy but remember that there are $5,000 in prizes going to 5 winners. If you don't win, you have likely still learned some things along the way.
In regards to referrals, I'm surprised I have not seen some more creative things yet. I'd personally be willing to spend a little money for the chance of winning $5,000. I'm not suggesting you need to spend money but I'd think outside the box a little.

Hi Tim,
Don't believe everything you hear. I'm not half as bad as they say I am.....!
-
I think I heard you on a couple of episodes of the Juan Lee Dough Show...
You had some good advice on forums!
-
5 prizes is a very generous basket, folks...
give it your best shot and the results will take care of itself!

I JUST found out about this 15 minutes ago.
I'd be interested in a ballpark figure of what some of the highest scores are. Is this possible? Ballpark?

I am guessing that since someone has said earlier that they submitted 10 articles - assuming they submitted another 10 more, and all are approved, and each article is worth 200 points. the top scorer has probably about 2,000 - 2,500 points?
It's the same as in internet marketing too.
You don't know exactly how your competitors in the same niche are doing, but you do your best based on best guesses.
I would think if you submitted 100 articles and 80% of them were accepted, you'd get a pretty decent shot at a macbook...
But seriously, just do your best and let the cards fall where they will....

Adrew has some great advice here... I run a successful internet biz and coach some ppl and so many give up in their minds before they even try. This was an awesome contest (especially for the macair - since my last ibook just died) so I jumped in head first and even put a couple of my other projects on hold...best of luck to everyone
Hope you've enjoyed the articles Tim & Lee
- im determined to be in the top 5

I'm finding it pretty amazing as Andrew is that there are a couple of responses in this thread where either someone says it's either too late to enter or they are too lazy to enter.
This is an incredible contest and should be fairly easy to win for someone that has the gusto to go for it. I'd hate to see what someone's online business looks like who's to lazy to enter this contest. We're talkin' about a frickin' MacBook Air and $3,000 worth of other prizes here folks.
Go for it!
Alan
